Don't let your gold jewellery collect dust, sell your gold to us instead
We all have gold jewellery that is broken, bent, unmatched or even unwanted, which is why Appelt's is happy offers cash or store credit for your scrap gold on the spot. All of our locations are able to buy your scrap gold.
Why should I sell my gold jewellery?
We have been a trusted destination for gold and diamonds in Manitoba for over 84 years, which means our highly-trained staff will accurately tell you the value of your pieces. At Appelt's, we will also provide you cash or credit for our store on the spot for your once-loved pieces (Please note that depending on the amount, we may have to issue a check).
With 4 locations in Southern Manitoba, we have a convenient store for you to drop by to sell your gold.
How do we determine the price of gold?
The first step is separate your scrap gold (such as broken jewellery, or unmatched earrings) and intact jewellery. Some undamaged jewellery is more valuable to be sold as a complete piece to us. For more information about selling jewellery to us, visit our Estate Jewellery page.
Once we have separated out your scrap gold, we will then categorize it based on its fineness; this refers to the amount of pure gold in the alloy of the piece. You will often find this stamped on the piece with 24K, 18K,14K and 10K being the most common. 24k means 100 percent gold, 18k is 75 percent, 14k is 58.3 percent, and 10k is 41.7 percent. The amount of gold within the alloy impacts the price of the gold.
If your jewellery doesn't have a stamp, our highly trained staff will be able to use our in-house testing equipment to determine the gold content.
