Shop by style

Solitaires show off the diamond and pair easily with a wedding band. Halos make the centre stone look larger. Three-stone rings carry meaning. Round and oval are the shapes we are asked for most, and elongated cushions are trending. Every style below is in store to try on.

How it works

Walk in or book, three simple steps

Most of our rings are sold as two parts, the mount and the centre stone, so you decide where your budget goes: a larger diamond in a simpler setting, or a finer setting with a more modest stone.

  1. Walk in or book a time. No appointment needed at any store. Book if you want a set time with one consultant and rings pulled in the styles you mention. Come together, or alone if it is a surprise.
  2. Choose the ring and the diamond. Try settings on your hand, not just on a tray. Compare natural and lab-grown stones side by side with the GIA or IGI grading report in front of you.
  3. Made for you in 4 to 6 weeks. Need it sooner? Ask about a rush, or choose a ready-to-ship ring and take it home the same day.

Natural or lab-grown

Both are real diamonds. We carry both.

A lab-grown diamond is chemically identical to a natural one; it is grown in weeks rather than formed over millions of years. We will show you the differences with the facts in front of you.

Origin. Our natural diamonds come from Canada or are hand selected in Belgium. Lab-grown diamonds are grown in a lab with the same hardness, sparkle and chemistry.

Price. Lab-grown costs considerably less for the same size and grade, so many couples choose a larger stone.

Resale. Natural diamonds can sometimes be resold. Lab-grown diamonds have little or no resale value, and we do not buy them back.

Grading and warranty. A GIA or IGI report is available for either, and both include the Rock Solid Diamond Warranty.

How much to spend

There is no rule. The “three months’ salary” idea came from a 1990s diamond advertising campaign, not from anything real. Spend what is comfortable.

The two choices that move the price most are how much gold is in the ring and whether the centre stone is natural or lab-grown. Mounts are priced in store together with the diamond you choose, so you always see the full ring price.

Ways to pay

0% financing on approved credit through Flexiti, with equal monthly payments over the term. Apply in minutes.

Layaway. A three-month plan with a deposit, so the ring is set aside until the day.

Price the parts. Most rings are priced as mount plus centre stone, so you decide where the budget goes.

When to start

Give yourself at least two months before the day you plan to propose. Most made-to-order rings take four to six weeks, which leaves room for sizing and changes.

Already inside that window? Ask about ready-to-ship rings or a rush order.

Rock Solid Diamond Warranty

Included with every diamond ring

No hidden clauses and no six-month check-in rule. Visit any of our four stores as often as you like; your coverage never runs out.

Lost diamonds replaced. Even your centre stone is covered, up to 2.5 carats or $25,000.

Free maintenance for life. Sizing within range, claw re-tipping, rhodium plating, cleaning and polishing.

Accidental damage. Covered. Life happens, and your coverage stays intact.

Any store, any time. Ness, Regent, Kenaston or Morden, whichever is closest that day.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most from Winnipeg couples. Still unsure? Call any store or book a time.

Page updated 6 November 2026. Hours, warranty terms and review figures were checked against appelts.ca and the four Google listings on that date.

Can I walk in to look at engagement rings in Winnipeg?

Yes. No appointment is needed at any Appelt’s store. Book a time only if you want a specific slot with a consultant and rings ready in the styles you mention.

Who is the best jeweller for engagement rings in Winnipeg?

Ask the couples who have bought one. Appelt’s Diamonds is the Canadian Jewellers Association’s Multi-Store Retailer of the Year 2025, the only Manitoba jeweller to hold the national title, with four Manitoba stores and a goldsmith in each, 751 Google reviews across those stores, natural and lab-grown diamonds with GIA or IGI reports, and the lifetime Rock Solid Diamond Warranty on every diamond ring. Family owned in Manitoba since 1938.

How long does it take to get an engagement ring?

Most rings are made to order and take about four to six weeks. Ready-to-ship rings can go home the same day. Rush orders are sometimes possible; mention your date at your first visit.

Are the ring and the diamond priced separately?

Usually, yes. You choose the mount and the centre stone separately so you can decide where your budget goes.

How much should I spend on an engagement ring?

There is no set number. The “three months’ salary” idea came from a 1990s advertising campaign. Spend what is comfortable. The amount of gold in the ring and the choice of natural or lab-grown diamond move the price most. 0% financing on approved credit through Flexiti and a three-month layaway plan are available.

Do you carry lab-grown diamonds?

Yes, alongside natural diamonds. We will show you both and explain the differences in price, origin and resale value. Lab-grown diamonds have little or no resale value and we do not buy them back.

What does the Rock Solid Diamond Warranty cover?

Lost diamonds including the centre stone up to 2.5 carats or $25,000, free lifetime maintenance (sizing within range, claw re-tipping, rhodium plating, cleaning and polishing) and accidental damage. There is no six-month inspection rule. Loss of the entire ring is not covered; that is what home insurance is for.

Which Appelt’s store should I visit?

Whichever is closest. The Ness, Regent and Kenaston stores in Winnipeg and the Morden store all carry engagement rings and have a goldsmith on site. Custom design appointments are at Kenaston and Morden.

Should we shop together or keep it a surprise?

About half the couples we see come in together. If you want the surprise but still want the ring right, come in together to see what they like, then come back alone to buy. We can hold a ring and diamond with a deposit.

Can the ring be resized?

Yes. Diamond rings bought at Appelt’s are resized free within range under the warranty. Most resizing takes about a week. Rings bought elsewhere can be resized for a fee.

Do you have engagement rings in stock to take home today?

Yes. The ready-to-ship collection is in stock across the four stores and online. A ring can go home the same day, or be sized first by our in-house goldsmith.

Do you offer financing or layaway?

Yes. 0% financing on approved credit through Flexiti, with equal monthly payments over the term, and a three-month layaway plan with a deposit.

Can you design a custom engagement ring?

Yes. Custom design appointments are at Kenaston with Kimi (English and Mandarin) and at Morden with Tatiana (English, Russian and Hebrew). You sketch together in real time, we cast the ring in the metal you choose or in your own gold, and our goldsmith sets the stones.

Where do your diamonds come from?

Our natural diamonds come from Canada or are hand selected in Belgium, and a GIA or IGI grading report is available. We also carry lab-grown diamonds.
